Who is responsible

Weight diary, Loss Tracker BMI is a free app developed and published on Google Play by Alebg (Alejandro Barrios García), an independent developer (“Alebg”, “we”). This policy explains what information the app handles, who else is involved and what control you have.

If you have any privacy question, write to us through the contact form.

Data you enter in the app

To provide its features, the app may ask for data such as your name or nickname, weight, height, age, goals, food preferences or allergies, weight entries, diary notes or photos. Some of it may be considered health data.

This data is stored only on your device. Alebg does not receive it, cannot see it and does not store it on any server of its own; the app does not require an account.

  • If you uninstall the app or clear its data, it is deleted and we cannot recover it.
  • The app lets you create a backup as a .zip file stored on your device. Only you have access to that file: Alebg does not receive it and cannot access it.

Data collected by third-party services

The app includes Google services that, when running, may automatically collect and process the following information:

  • Identifiers: Google advertising ID and app installation identifiers.
  • Device data: model, operating system and version, language, regional settings and carrier.
  • IP address and approximate location (country or region inferred from the IP). We do not request your precise GPS location.
  • App usage: screens viewed, events, time of use and interaction with ads.
  • Error reports (log data): app crashes and the state of the device at that moment.

This information does not let us identify you directly. It is collected and processed by each provider under its own policy; here Google explains how it uses data from apps that use its services.

Third-party services used by the app

  • Google Play Services: Google components required on Android to show ads and protect the app. Google Privacy Policy.
  • Google AdMob (advertising): serves the ads in the app and measures their performance. How AdMob uses data.
  • Firebase (Google): anonymous usage statistics and error diagnostics to improve the app. Privacy in Firebase.

Links to third-party sites are governed by their own privacy policies, over which we have no control.

Advertising

The app is free and funded by Google AdMob ads. Ads may be personalized (based on your advertising ID and interests) or non-personalized (based on the app’s content and general data such as country).

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent before identifiers are used for personalized advertising, and you can change your choice at any time.

How to limit personalized ads. On Android: Settings → Google → Ads (you can reset or delete your advertising ID and turn off personalization). You can also manage them at adssettings.google.com. You will still see ads, but they will be less relevant.

Device permissions

Depending on the feature you use, the app may ask for permission to:

  • Notifications: meal, weigh-in or fasting reminders. They are scheduled on your device.
  • Camera: scan barcodes or take progress photos, if the app includes those features.
  • Photos and files: save and restore your backup (.zip) and pick images, if the app includes that feature.
  • Internet: required for ads and Google services.

Permissions are requested when you use the related feature and you can withdraw them at any time in your device settings. The photos and files you choose stay on your device.

Sharing, retention and transfers

We do not sell your personal data. Only the providers listed above are involved, and we do not share data with anyone else except where legally required.

Alebg does not keep app usage data. The data collected by Google, AdMob and Firebase is retained under their own policies.

Google may process data in the United States and other countries, relying on mechanisms such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, and to withdraw your consent. Since Alebg does not store your app usage data, you can usually exercise them yourself:

  • by clearing the app’s data or uninstalling it;
  • by resetting or deleting your advertising ID in your device settings;
  • by managing the data Google holds about you in your Google account.

If you think we may hold data about you (for example, because you wrote to us), contact us through the contact form and we will reply. You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in Spain, the AEPD).

Alebg does not sell or “share” personal information for monetary consideration, as those terms are used in California and other US state privacy laws.

Security

Because your data is stored on your device, its security also depends on how well the device is protected (screen lock, system updates). Google services use encrypted communications. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the app or in the law. The new version will be published at this same address with its update date. We recommend checking it from time to time.
